2014 Trek Pure Lowstep - Women's

Spin across town in comfort and style with Trek's Pure Lowstep. With its upright riding position and foot-forward designed aluminum frame, the Pure lets you place your feet on the ground for safety and confidence. And, getting on and off couldn't be easier with the low frame you can step right over. It's also one of the easiest bikes to ride thanks to the at-the-ready controls, upright handlebars, cushy seat and the 7-speed drivetrain that flattens the climbs. Plus, the powerful linear-pull brakes give you total confidence.

    Comments:

I ride this bike at the beach. I an 70 yrs. old and this bike has every thing I need to tootle around the beach area and ride to the beach on. I feel comfortable and relaxed riding this bike even though age is telling on my knees. I've had to give up my Mt. bike and road bike several years ago and I'm extremely happy to find bike I can have fun on and be comfortable.

      Comments:

Being retired, wanted a bike that was easy to ride without having to bend over the handle bars as I did with my last bike. Very pleased with this Trek. Easy ride and very light weight for taking along camping. One thing that was a negative was that I had a flat tire after riding it 3 times. It seems that the tire tube was rubbing against some scores on the rim that were not covered up. However it was covered by the bike shop warranty.

        Comments:

I am 59 and pretty active - I jog, walk, and skate frequently. The only reason I didn't bike much before was the discomfort factor from my other bike. I did 15 miles the first time I took this bike out, and experienced NO discomfort (ladies, I mean in the crotch area!!!). Also there was no tiring/discomfort in the neck and shoulders. I'm short at 5'1", and the seat is easy to adjust. I did need to tilt the handlebars back to have a comfortable reach. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone looking for a comfortable ride.

Finally got my husband to ride with me. We love our bikes. He bought a larger gel seat for himself but the original is great for me. Having the seat set back sure helps my back. No leaning forward. Many more miles to ride for us.

I haven't been on a bike in 14 years, and went into Richardson BikeMart just to check out this bike in particular. Mike was extremely helpful, and asked me what it was I was looking for in a bike to make sure it was a good fit. We tried a couple bikes, and this one was so comfortable and easy to ride, I loved it! I bought it Fri, picked it up Sat, it's now Wed and not a day has gone by that I wasn't on my bike!! Great for leisurely rides with my kids, and also for solo trips as an additional form of exercise. Best purchase I have made in a long time, and I will cherish this bike for years to come!!!

My husband and I decided to start riding bikes to get outside and enjoy the outdoors and get a little exercise at the same time. We do not like to ride on the busy roads so we will be doing our riding at parks or bike/walk only paths.

                  Comments:

Bought this bike for my 12 year old daughter. It was between an Electra and the Pure. We are very much a Trek family, as we've had great luck with the brand. My daughter is getting a little annoyed with me and her brothers who are often "borrowing" her Pure 'cause it's one of the most fun bikes to ride. Just totally casual. My favorite feature is probably the integrated cables. Shifting seems to be precise and I love how she will have plenty of room to grow into it. This bike begs to be customized, though. Fenders and a cool basket are a must, but probably flashier grips and saddle wouldn't hurt. My wife wants to trade in her aluminum/carbon Trek Hybrid for one of these.

                  Comments:

The new crank forward geometry takes some getting used to. I was having real problems steering until my local bike shop moved the seat forward as far as possible so that I could have more weight on the handlebars.
